WHO IS KLEENHUB?
Founded in 2020 in Copenhagen, Kleen Hub began with a moment of frustration over mountains of disposable packaging—and a determination to do things differently. Co-founders Robert Dichtl, Simone Favorito, and Giuseppe Lanzafame envisioned a reuse system that was simple, seamless, and scalable. Their solution: TAP & REUSE™—a deposit-free, app-free system allowing users to tap their payment card to borrow reusable cups or bowls, with charges only incurred if items aren’t returned.
From day one, their goal has been crystal clear: make reuse convenient, not cumbersome. With RFID-embedded containers and card-tap access, Kleen Hub removes friction—no downloads, no deposits, no hassle.
By 2024, Kleen Hub had secured over 150 partner venues across Denmark, Spain, and Portugal—including cafés, universities, and corporate canteens—with more than 11,000 users choosing reuse and preventing over 50,000 single-use items from reaching landfills. Energy savings have been significant, avoiding thousands of kilograms of CO₂ emissions.
Pilot projects have shown impressive results. At Roskilde Festival, Kleen Hub achieved a 97 % return rate, with average returns within just 40 minutes—proof their model works even in demanding environments.
Today, Kleen Hub is pioneering the Nordic market’s first reusable packaging-as-a-service model—empowering food and beverage venues with an effortless circular solution and expanding fast across Europe.
